What time should I arrive at class?

Five minutes before class time is ideal. We can get you signed in and settled quickly.

Are reservations required?

Yes, all classes require an advance registration and payment. You can register at www.scienceandlyes.com or call us at 734.812.7543.

Can I pay when I arrive?

No. We do not handle payments at the studio. You must pay for class in advance in order to hold your spot.

What do I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Long pants, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes are ideal. Sandals and flip-flops are not allowed in any class. We will provide aprons. Soapmaking is messy!

What do I need to bring?

We provide all the equipment and supplies that you need for most classes. If you are taking a Hot process or Liquid soap class, please bring a crock pot that holds at least 2 quarts.

Do you allow Observers?

Observers are not allowed in the studio, but may watch through the windows.

Are children allowed?

Only children who are registered may be in the classroom. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Do you do private parties?

Yes, we can accommodate private parties and other large groups in the Community Space.

What if I have to cancel my reservation?

If cancelling with more than 48 hours notice from class start time, you may receive a FULL REFUND. If cancelling with 48 hours-2 hours notice from class time, NO REFUND – a complimentary CREDIT (valid for 3 months from the class date) will be issued. If cancelling with less than 2 hours notice from class start time, NO REFUND/NO CREDIT.

Cancellations must be made by the reserving party. Please leave a voicemail (734.812.7543) or email info@scienceandlyes.com if cancelling after business hours.

What is the policy for Bad Weather?

Classes will be cancelled if a weather emergency is declared. All registered guest will be emailed about the cancellation. A complimentary credit (valid for 3 months from the class date) will be issued if class is cancelled by us due to inclement weather.

Science and Lyes reserves the right to cancel classes for unforseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified prior to class time and refunds will be processed.
